Should Buyers go for Air Coolers or Air Conditioners

The air cooler vs. air conditioner debate is quite old and there are advocates on both sides. While some people think that air coolers provide sufficient cooling for a warm day, others insist that air coolers can prove to be big failures in certain areas and certain temperatures. Critics, on the other hand, say that both can be put to use in an effective and efficient manner but buyers will have to analyze everything before finalizing their purchase. Thus, there are a few elements to evaporative cooling and air conditioned cooling that buyers need to be aware of before they go ahead with the purchase.

Costs
Many people are aware of the fact that an air cooler is much more economical and cheaper than an air conditioner. On the whole, their operational costs are much lower as well. They consume lesser energy and are able to provide cool and fresh air for a warm room. They are also inexpensive when it comes to installation costs since they are easy to set up. While air conditioners may need a bigger team to set it up, air coolers can be made operational with just a couple of people and the team will still take a comparatively lesser time to set up the machine too. Also, maintenance costs for air coolers are lesser to and they can be cleaned up domestically while air conditioners require professional cleaners.

Quality of Air
Since an air cooler and an air conditioner typically uses different methods to cool up places, the quality of air they generate are radically different as well. Air coolers work best when they circulate air through one’s offices and rooms constantly using the whole room as a source for fresh air. This means that people will be breathing in fresh air. Also, air coolers do not require customers to shut their windows and doors when they are operating. In fact, they work better when the windows and doors are open. Thus, they keep on bringing in purer air from outside too. Air conditioners, conversely, require one to shut the windows and doors in order to operate and thus, they run the same stale air all through the room over and over again.

Moisture
Since an air cooler will typically use a traditional cooling method to produce fresh and cool air for a room, they are supposed to inject some moisture into the air to create an evaporating effect in order to cool the room. The increase in moisture makes sure that the inhabitants’ skin does not feel dry and is not damaged due to dry air. Conversely, a typical air conditioner will eliminate all the moisture from the air and resultantly, it may damage one’s eyes or skin in a negative manner. People who either have asthma or different types of allergies will be harmed even more if they use air conditioners as the dry sir will make breathing difficult.

On the other hand, there are some areas in the world where humidity and an increase in moisture is the root cause of all the heat. Due to an increase in the sun’s rays and the level of humidity in the air, air coolers are not able to function properly. In fact, they may actually end up making the heat worse since they will simply increase the level of moisture in the air. In this case, air conditioners are better since they remove the moisture in the air and do not allow the humid air to enter the room, bringing the temperature down to a neutral level.

Thus, both air coolers and air conditioners have their own advantages and disadvantages which means that they are both good for specific conditions.
